i have a 305 tbi out of a 89 1500....., if i swap the computer for one from something like a 305 tbi out of a 92 camaro ..., will it give me more high end power?

also just a shot in the dark but does anyone one know what transmission would have came in a 89 1500?

If it was auto it should be a 700r4, if manual probably a t5. My brother owned a 89 1500. Out of curiosity I swapped computors and no there is no benifit, in fact I think it ran a little worse.

 

Are you trying to put a tbi camaro computor in a truck?

 

i put a tbi truck motor out of the 89 1500 into an s10...., im trying to get some more get up and go out of it ..., the thing is alll bottom end

 

The lo3s are hogs down low, but not because of the computor. If you want more top end out of it you'll have to get it to breath better, and need a cam that makes power at higher rpm.

 

good to hear ...., im rebuilding the top end this winter i was just lookin for a quick fix till then
