help with wires please

help with wires please

ok i have a 82 z28 that came with a 305 crossfire injection, the wires going two the alternator i have a red and a black is this correct? the reason i ask is i bought the car with no motor and the 350 i have in now in the 82z28 runs great its all hooked up, its just i dont want two hook up the wrong wires two the alt and burn somthing up. I have searched everywhere. mainly what im asking is what color is the 2 wires that go two the alternator in a stock 82z28? thanks

You should have a RED and a BLACK wire in a connector that plug into the alternator. You should also have a red wire that bolts to the rear of the alternator. This photo is from my 82 CFI, with the alternator removed. Note that there are only three wires running back in the tubing, toward the rear of the engine compartment.

Thank you man! I wasnt forsure because on my 89 its a white wire instead of the little black one, and i just wanted to make sure.
