Got car back - LT1 cam - S/R 305 Heads....
Well, I bought the car home this evening. It runs terrible. I will be starting over from scratch with the tuning. After it warmed up and went into closed loop it ran OK, but it wouldn't even idle cold. A carb is very tempting right now....
I have L03, t5, 3.73 posi, edebrock headers, American Thunder cat-back, LT1 cam, AFPR, S/R torquer 305 heads, 1.5 roller rockers, and tune with a moates ostrich (no wide-band yet), tunerpro, and winaldl for logging. I plan on installing an open element before (re)starting the tuning process.
Any suggestions on where to start and how much hp I might make when I've got it tuned?
I will say that after it warmed up it seemed like it could "breathe" easier and it wasn't wound as tight going through the gears. But again, I can also tell that it's way out of whack.

You mean an EBL flash is tempting
FP adjustments, see were the timing is, stock federal bin and work on the VE tables.
If the VE tables are the same for auto and manual trans I can post a screen shot of mine.

discostu - wow that looks great - I'm shooting for 260 at the flywheel and maybe 210 at the wheels
Thomas - You're exactly right, it's how I tuned the stock engine and then again with the headers. I did have to manually advance the distributor to get it to run enough to get home, so I think I'm going to add at least some timing before I start the VE tables. Thanks for the offer on the VE tables, but I'll just start with my stock one.
I think my next big purchase will be a wideband O2 sensor (or a carb - just kidding!) EBL would then be a logical next step.
