Wanted to share a success since it came from posts on Third Gen.

Have 92 Camaro 305TBI that suddenly started idling at 2 grand, black smoke at start up and drinking gas like it was free beer.

So, short answer....coolant temperature sensor. Car runs significantly better.

Based on input from the board I went after all the stuff I could do without spending money first....(because I hadn't found the CTS clue yet)

Checked vacuum lines (pulled off at source, then at destination). If there was a change, this would tell me there was a crack in the line.

ALDL codes - are there any to start with?

IAC - stick finger in IAC throat to see of idle changed (it didn't)

EGR - check that is would move

CTS - pull the plug off and see what happens (it worked).
