Dyno Numbers are in

well i went to they dyno today to test my current setup before i change my cam and heads and intake, My current set up is edelbrock performer intake lt1 cam 1.6 rr (i know heads are maxed out) 2400 stall 4.10 gears headers full exhaust and of course i tuned this combo with the ebl

186 hp
215 ft lbs

it was ran on a dynojet i think these numbers are a little low as to the fact that my afr dipped low at the start around 10-1 but stableized to about 12.5 let me know what you guys think thanks,

Mark

Re: Dyno Numbers are in

those numbers arent too bad, considering the motor is 170 at the crank..

that puts you at what like 215hp @ the crank..thats not bad at all. Espec for what you have done to the motor. Makes me feel alittle better since im doing an lt1 cam and some mildly ported 601 heads in a few weeks.

5400 huh? thats a pretty high rpm to spin at (and make power)..i thought the heads gave up at like 4-4500 max. Well anyway, nice job.

Re: Dyno Numbers are in

My car with just exhaust and fuel system did 145.9whp and I had more tq then you, 269wtq, but I think that was a flook on the torque because the highest on the run before was only 239, but thats still higher then you.

I would have expected higher with the cam and head work you have and plus the intake manifold, I would have thought 200ish hp

Thats alot of fuel. Wat is the duty cicle at 5400rpm?

It would be interesting to dino it again, adding fuel by increasing the FP with the 55lb.

Did u ad a lot of SA to the EBL bin?

Almost not worth it all tese mods for 50hp.

Re: Dyno Numbers are in

anyone of you know how much drivetrain loss one can expect on these vehicles? also, i have to agree i would have expected at least 200whp from these mods. frankly, i'm a bit disappointed by those numbers..

Re: Dyno Numbers are in

These numbers do seem abit on the low side. IIRC there are a few of us with fairly similar mods running better numbers. Somethings up. I agree that maybe the injectors might be a bit on the large side.

The timing advance curve will make or break you on the low-end. The flattop piston LE9 305 converted to TBI in my van with the stock 929 cam (194/203 @ .050, .390/.410" lift, 112* LSA), 14022601 heads, edelbrock performer rpm intake, stock TBI with stock exhaust manifolds and Y-pipe pulled this. Also don't forget that the peak torque on my engine was advertised at 2,000 rpm and peak HP at 3,600. The dyno operators did not start the pull until 3,500. By 3,500 the torque was already well on its way down. Peak HP was at about 3,600-3,700 rpm although it had a nearly flat curve all the way to 4,800. The ignition system components were tired and it was missing over 4,500.

Two quick questions.

A.) What fuel do you have in IL? E10 or standard gasoline? If its E10 adjust your closed loop commanded air/fuel ratio to 14.2:1 and PE air/fuel ratio to 12.3:1.

B.) Is your distributor set to 5* advance like the calibration is. If the distributor is at the stock 0* setting, you have 5* retard across the board.
