Im looking at getting a '91 Camaro RS. Its got a 305 TBI in it rated at 170hp at the flywheel. Im looking to get around 300 hp out of it. What would i need to do?? I'd really like to keep it TBI for miliage, or switch to TPI. Im not fimilar with these motors so I need help lol. Im looking for 300hp on a budget. Thanks Jeremy

 

Heads, cam, EPROM tuning, All free mods, Posi and some hoosiers and youll be good.

 

What heads and were can i get them? I was lookin at summit and they had a cam that i liked. Its a 224/230 @500 with both the intake and exhaust being under .550 lift. They say it will work, but i know i will have to get valve springs and what not to support the lift. And what is EPROM tunning? Also what rear end is in these cars, a 9 bolt. I have no clue where to get a posi unit for this?? Thanks

 

You probably have a 7.5IN 10 bolt with 26 spline axles...? What year is it?

You will need springs with any cam, or you will most likly float valves. I think the LT1 cam is supposed to be the best.

The EPROM tuning is tuning with an eraseable chip and data logging software. It is to set sprk timing fuel curves ETC. You can change many settings with it and is nessiucery for any real HP with TBI.
