whats the best mods for the$ on a 89 rs
everyone is telling me its a 350 in my rs, the vin is a lo3(305) two shops told me its a crate engine with the camaro tbi on it, regardless...I need more power!! Im new to tbi, my iroc is tpi,(seems much better) with gas oner $4.00 per gallon, I wanna stay tbi. I see holly makes a tbi unit retail for almost 300.00 after shiping, plenty of intakes for tbi but I read u can use any intake 4 a carb with a adapter plate..humm, true?? I have a nice wielend 4 a carb, where do I get a adapter, or is that true? But whats the low budget mods that really make a diff with a tbi set up? any and all ideas welcome

All this stuff has been gone over a million times, do a search and check the stickies.
Exhaust, cam, heads all wake the car up a lot, maybe new rear gears. The Holley tbi isent needed as the stock one with ultimate tbi mods is good for 300hp, you might check what size injectors you have to make sure it has 350 injectors if its a 350. You can check the casting numbers to make sure its a 350 also.

Look at the ledge on the rear of the engine behind the distributor. It's hard to see, but with a flashlight you should see 5.7L or 5.0L. If it's a 350 and has a G or K beside the 5.7L then it is a Truck engine, most likely a 200 HP. It should be a 87 or later engine if it has a TBI manifold on it.
Like the other post said, there is plenty of articles on TBI setups. I believe someone posted one a couple of days ago on 305 to 350 TBI swap.
Good Luck.
