Re: 350 Swap problems

kinda off subject... i have a 95 gmc truck that had a 305 that threw a rod. i had an 85 350 motor sitting around so i swapped all the fuel injection stuff to the 350 and put it in the 95. the truck runs and sounds good but i think i need the 350 computer... any thoughts on where i should get one? same year? i already put in 350 injectors.

Blaze, first, welcome aboard thirdgen.org.

2nd, yes, where you posted was very off topic, so I moved your post to a new thread and in the TBI forum, where answers are more likely to be forthcoming.

Re: 350 Swap computer question

You should probably either re-program the computer (burn new chip) or find an appropriate computer to work with and go from there. From what you have said it sounds as though you are using 305 Injectors, which may prove to not be spraying enough fuel, so you may be running a bit lean.

Re: 350 Swap problems

In a pinch you can use 305 ECM to run 350 provided that you have higher fuel pressure (18 vs 13 PSI). In an emergency, stock 305 injectors can be used with 350 provided that you up fuel pressure. A long term solution would be to get 350 injectors and BIN corresponding to 350 truck. Check out http://www.moates.net/ for bin files and hardware required for chip burning.
Otherwise find PCM from (make sure that it has the same trany as you have) 350 equipped truck and injectors to finish your swap.
