Instrument cluster 87 - 91 Firebird
Hi !
Swapping from 87 carbureted Firebird V8 (LG4) to 91 TBI (L03).
The wiring diagramm into the GM service manual shows other pigtail connections for the instrument clusters.
Can I use the old 87 automatic cluster with the 91 dash wiring harness ? Or do I have to buy a new cluster ?
If so, somebody here who would like to sell this item (nice price welcome) ?
P.

im not 100% sure, but i think the 87-up used the electronic speedo, so your current cluster should work.
but if not, ive got one from a 91 L03 for you.

Hi !
Yeah, you are right. But a friend of mine told me it is 85 up !
But the pin connections seem to be differnet (as shown in the wiring diagramm).
Ok, I will check this and keep you in mind !
Do you have some pics ? If so, please email me !
Thx

Re: Instrument cluster 87 - 91 Firebird
heres a link to the thread i posted a while back for it:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/inte...e-cluster.html
shipping from America to Germany is going to cost quite a bit, considerably more than the price of the cluster itself. i would definately see if the one you have doesnt work for it first and if not try to find something on your side of the pond. but if all else fails, i can get you a quote for shipping.
