Engine: 305 TBI V8 / 2.0 4-cyl.
Transmission: 700R4 / I have no idea
Axle/Gears: Stock 2.73 / I don't know
Very exciting... I think we figured it out!

I've posted at least five different threads about my timing issues after switching the 305 I bought back to a 305 TBI. As I have mentioned, it was fast as a carb'd car, but just ran really bad, also due to a failing fuel pump. We swapped the car back to a TBI, did the whole swap, but I think the distributor was left in it from when it was carb'd. The car will not start unless the timing cable is unplugged, it'll sputter for five seconds and die. The car, after the timing is replugged in, is dead slow. 0-60 in over 14 seconds! Could this be the dizzy?I posted this question on another section but people were ignoring it, and I'm hoping to get an answer here before I leave.Thanks!!!

did you ever shoot a timing gun at that thing? unplug the dizzy, connect the trigger lead to #1 and aim the gun down at the balancer it, you should be at 0* or maybe a bit advanced if you like.
