Turbo TBI Truck
I have a 90 gmc 1500 with tbi 350 in it. The old air duct stuff has been removed and replaced with an chrome air cleaner. After getting the stuff needed for the 7427 PCM swap, I thought i could use the bonnet for the MAF sensor to retain a low boost pressure T3 turbo. I have shorty headers, so can i simply turn a header around, and bolt a turbo right on it, get a 2 bar map sensor, and tune it in with the 7427 with maf. I Think i can put a T fitting on the oil pressure sending outlet on the back of the intake to the turbo, and have it drain into the valve cover through the breather, or drill a hole in it, and bolt on a hose fitting and route a drain hose to it. With tuning from the 7427 PCM and MAF and 2 bar map sensor. At the yard near here, I see a lot of diesel turbos about the size of a t3, with a BOV/wastegate, with all this, (I have plenty of room under the hood BTW) Is this possible?
The MoDs to the 350 are curently: '96 Vortec Heads, GMPP Vortec Intake, holley 670 tbi,Summit Cams 1105 with 0.465 int./0.488 exh. lift and 224 int./234 exh. Duration at @050 lift. ProForm Full Roller rockers, Summit 350 block with hypertonic pistons, and steel crank, Recently rebuilt 700 r4 with TCI shift kit, MSD Blaster coil, summit ignition box with rev limiter, and plug wires to go with the box. The upcoming mods are: Turbo (If its possible) It runs terrible! so i want to get in tune, then get a 94 trans am rear end and convert it over to leaf spring (If its possible)
