Tough to say from this angle, but I am going to venture a guess that it is an IAT - GM #25037229 or similar.

Correct. That is your IAT sensor that resides in your intake snorkel. If you have an open air element you will need to drill a hole in the bottom of the base and place it there. Most open air kits come with a hole pre-stamped out.
