metal or aluminum in oil?

metal or aluminum in oil?
just found out that i got aluminum or metal in my oil, whats the cause for that. mechanic told me i need a freezeplug, and altenator. can anyone help me out here?

If the metal is aluminum,you probably have a badly
worn timing chain(the original cam sprocket is
aluminum with plastic-coated teeth),or a piston
problem(very rare). If the metal is iron(sticks to a
magnet) the camshaft is failing. Either problem should
fixed ASAP as the particles will wear on the oil pump
and cylinders-if either or both problems are present,
car will run much better after the repairs

Neither of those things will fix the oil contamination. I assume your battery doesn't charge right and you have water/antifreeze leaking from your block. If not, find a new mechanic.
