Castiron Intake

I have a castiron TBI intake. I was wondering what they came on.. it has a ledge type thing extending forward from the passenger side throttle bore going towards the front of the intake..wondering what it was intended to do...

My guess would be a Boat, C60 series 2 ton truck, or an industrial engine.

is there any thing to be gained by running this verrrry heavy intake? its kinda cool cuz it has a few different things on it than a regular TBI intake..
