Ive been looking for a tps for my 305 tbi firebird for 3 weeks now.I ordered 1 from autozone.com and 2 weeks later they canceled it because they can no longer get them.The dealer keeps telling me that the part has updated to a different part but it looks nothing like mine and theres no way its even going to bolt up to my throttle body.Anyone have any ideas?

 

What year is you bird? I have seen 2 different TPS on LO3's, a flat one on the older ones and a round one on the later ones.

 

It's an 89 formula 305 tbi.Think i found 1 on ebay tho.theres no pic so ill have to call and make sure its the right one.

 

89 probably has the flat one. Looks like discontinnued, only options, check in the classifieds, jy, or finde a 91-92 TB with the round connector one. Turbocity sells a oval to round adapter.

Best is also to replace the aluminium screws that were used with the older flat/oval connector, with some normal screws. The aluminium ones are wery fragile.

 

you can get the flat style still, I almost bought one from oriely auto parts, but they are more expensive I think somewhere around $70. I ended up using a round connector TB instead, and the TPS was much cheaper.
