Lt1 cam swap questions
Lt1 cam swap questions
I'm getting ready to install a LT1 cam in my 93 Suburban and believe I need to buy the lifter dogbones, spider, and came retainer plate and bolts. Is there a cheap and easy way to find this stuff or do I just bight the bullet and spend the coin at like SDPC?

Re: Lt1 cam swap questions
If the motor you are using is a roller motor than you can reuse what you already have. You can pull a valve cover and look through one of the casting holes in the head with a flashlight and see if you can see the dogbones. This will save you a lot of time from pulling the intake to find out the hard way. If your motor does not have the roller set-up it will have roller provisions. Meaning you can get a spider, dogbones and lifters from a donor motor (be careful on used lifters if you don't know their history). You will have to drill and tap the holes for the spider bolts and you will need to grab a new cam retaining plate from the donor motor.
