My intro - 1990 firebird

Since i will probably be using this section of the forum the most(TBI) i will go ahead and introduce myself!

my name is jon and i picked up a 90 firebird with the L03, i absolutely love this car, it is in great condtion minus the very few cosmetic issues

i had an 84 trans am but due to needing money i sold it last year for 2,000..i wish i never did, so im definitely holding on to this one! so far i haven't really seen any of these in my city

it just needs minor fixing like...

the gas gauge is stuck on full
interior needs some attention, just the seats..
steering wheel has some up/down play
steering is a bit iffy..
and it veers to the right when braking
other than that its great!

im a college student and i would love to save up to get a new engine for it so i can have it forever! lol

heres some pictures, i have some videos of it if anyone wants to see those too

Re: My intro - 1990 firebird

Welcome man.

Your car looks nice.

I'm in the same boat, hard to go to college and maintain a car like ours at the same time!

But it can be done, don't lose faith.

Fuel float is stuck, very easy and cheap fix.

A fellow member (Jamesc I believe) has a very good thread walking you through tightening our tilt steering columns.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by your steering is a bit iffy, but I'm assuming you mean it's very "loose", this can be fixed by either replacing the steering box or rebuilding it.

If your car is pulling to the left upon braking then there is a problem with the left caliper, a possible theory is that there is blockage in the line and it's not allowing fluid to be relieved from the caliper.

Hope this helps!

Nice to have you here
