Whats the deal?
Why wont my idle afr change (get richer) than 14.7 when I change the idle fuel table? This is a $OD definition file. I change the values up or down in the "main fuel table, near idle %vol Eff" and it will just go to 14.7 or very close. I want to run a little richer idle. Is this because of closed loop idle? Can I disable that, or should I. I think I might benefit from a richer idle than 14.7 as far as getting the idle to smooth out. All thats done to this motor is a compu-cam camshaft, and the idle is really choppy? Is it possible to post my bin file for all to see. How do you ad a bin attachment to your post so maybe I can post my bin and someone can help me and get a better idea of what i need to do? thanks in advance.

Re: Whats the deal?
in closed loop the computer is set to run at the commanded afr.
you changing the VE cell, will make a difference in open loop, but when it enters closed loop, the computer will add or subtract to make it the 14.7 that is commanded.

Re: Whats the deal?
Yeah, when i fire it up its in open loop, and i see the changes i made on the wb. Then it enters closed loop and runs 14.6 or so. All i have is a commanded afr for wot with the cats $od. Can i completly disable closed loop? Or is that a stupid thing to do, if it even can be done. In drive at a stop light im get a terribley bad misfire, and it shakes the truck but it doesnt do it when cold. Im thinking lean misfire.

You can post your bin by compressing using a ZIP utility and posting it as attachment.
In XDF, Advanced $0D v125.xdf, under Open Loop AFR parameters locate Stoichiometric AFR constant - which is set to 14.7 - you can adjust it in addition with Initial AFR Enrichment in Park/ Neutral constant.

Yes, WinZip is one of many programs that will do the trick.
I do not know TunerCat, but here are the EPROM addresses for Open Loop AFR parameters (from TunerPro XDF file):
Stoichiometric AFR
Location: 48DD
Initial AFR Enrichment in Park/ Neutral
Location: 48E1
$0D mask (and PCM) is brand new to me as well - I only had a limited time playing with it. Perhaps some one with a bit more experience can chime in! Post your bin and engine combo information.

Re: Whats the deal?
I present to you my bin $OD, used Cats tuner. Hopefully the attachment worked, Let me know. If any body has some suggestions Let me know on how or what to modify. Motor is as follows I am not a Tuning rockstar more of a beginner, as you will see. Try not to laugh at my changes to much.
1994 350 Bored .030 over 5,500 miles on rebuild
PCM is a 16196395 BJLH
4L60E Trans
Single factory exhaust with a flowmaster muffler
Factory compression ratio
195 PSI cylinder Pressure, all 8 cylinders
Retained all smog equipement also, ie; egr, charcoal etc, etc.
With only this I am running way lean after 2800 at WOT. Probly cause my fuel map is all whacky.
only upgrade was a compu-Cam Part # CRN 114122
Hydraulic flat tappet
Basic Operating RPM Range 1,200-4,800
Intake Duration at 050 inch Lift 204
Exhaust Duration at 050 inch Lift 214
Advertised Intake Duration 264
Advertised Exhaust Duration 274
Intake Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio 0.423 in.
Exhaust Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio 0.446 in.
Lobe Separation (degrees)110
Computer-Controlled Compatible
