Fuel pressure issue?

I have a 92 305 camaro with the tbi fuel system and the car will start up great but then lops and will die. I can hear the fuel pump but I hooked up a pressure gauge up to it and it was really low below 15 psi. I have replaced the fuel filter. Aside from replacing the fuel pump is there anything else I should try?

Any help is much appreciated.

Re: Fuel pressure issue?

TBI system is supposed to be only about 12psi. Check for vacuum leaks, make sure plug wires are good (check continuity on each).

Re: Fuel pressure issue?

Thanks for the feedback, the plugs and wires were changed about 5000 miles ago. The fuel pressure was even below 12 psi. I can try lookingat the vacuum lines again.

Re: Fuel pressure issue?

Maybe this post is older but here is a thought. If your fuel pressure is far below 12psi and you can hear your fuel pump this seems self explanatory.

Its most likely not a vac. leak. and has nothing to do with your plugs. its your fuel system. so start with the pump sense you can hear it and you shouldn't be hearing it, or you can do a regulator diaphragm rebuild kit. 50-100 bucks from checker.
