converting a 305 tbi to a 305 tbi
I have searched through the stickys and threads and havent been able to find anything.
I have a 1990 Camaro with a 305 TBI and I want to swap the TBI parts to TPI parts, I know i need to change the intake, upgrade the fuel pump, and change the ECU, but is there anything else that needs to be changed?
if anyone can direct me to a place this is already discussed, that would be great too.

Check the swap section. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/engine-swap/
Along with the ECM, you will need the harness, or just repin it? Someone with better knowledge on the ECM should fill in what I don't know.
You might want to get TPI heads, don't think you want to use those TBI ones.
That's really all I can think of right now.
Best bet is to find a 305 tpi donor car, and swap over everything you can, maybe even rebuild the motor before you swap it.

So Welcome...
Acording to the shop manual, the TBI ECM is a 2 connector,
and the TPI is a 3 connector ECM, so just repinning is out.
While this is do-able, ( donor car, harness, etc.), lets
back up to first principles a bit, like what are you trying to
accomplish? The TPI certainly is sexier looking, but you're
looking at a LOT of work (& what is your capability level?)
for relatively little actual performance gain, with all else being
the same on your vehicle. There are lots easier ways to up
the performance of what you have -- exhaust, cam, heads,
TBI mods, air cleaner, chip tuning, etc. And you can find a
wealth of information about ALL these subjects right here on TGO.
But caveat emptor. The amount of expertise can be exceeded
only by the navel-gazing gas-bags.

Re: converting a 305 tbi to a 305 tbi
the reason for wanting to go to tuned port is mainly because, from what ive read, you get more power for your fuel because of the improved fuel distribution.
I have built a nice TPI 454 in a truck, but the truck came with the 454, so i have no experience doing a motor swap, especially from one injection system to another.
the more i read about TBI i notice that some people really seem to like them and i have been tempted to just mod the TBI instead of doing the swap.
what it comes down to is im a college student trying to build this car as i go, the goal is to make a nice driver, something with around 300hp

Improving your heads, and getting a cam (and tune) to match the heads will be the best way to achieve your horsepower goal.
