Tuning
I'm looking for someone who will be able to help assist me in my project and tune my engine. I've been told pro's an con's about people tuning that i've researched and i'm trying to figure who to go to. My last suggestion was check with tgo, because there are very few who accomplished a tbi tuned system that works well.
My goal is a 350 TBI putting out 300+ rwhp/tq but not exceeding 400hp/tq out the crank, i have a 700r4 tranny and don't want to blow it, i heard the limitation is 400 solid. I plan on later having my transmittion being rebuilt to withstand more.
Any help would be great.
thanks, i also have a idea of who will be doing my engine if interested and maybe someone has already dealt with them?

read the stickies DIY-PROM and DFI-ECM. also check out the thread "come on in free tune" in this tech board. May be a sticky as well. If you want a tuned chip look at tbichips.com or do it yourself here with assistance.

Re: Tuning
What ECM system do you have now?
I just tuned a 1991 year 747 ECM, $42 code, for a 350 TBI over the summer.
I had all of the equipment and reference info and it took me right at 3 months to get to a point I was happy with. I didn't work on it EVERY day, but most days. If I had another one to do I'd go with the EBL system.
The factory system is VERY limited and not at all "easy" to work with.
If you have the same code that I do, then I'll share my reference material with you, but honestly you're better off upgrading the ECM to something easy to work with.
This is the right place to go as others here can also help you - mainly in the DIYPROM section. Like Ronny said, read the stickies in DIYPROM. That might take you a month.
edit: The EBL system is here: http://www.dynamicefi.com/

Re: Tuning
I don't know.. I just have a 305 TBI currently, from a 89 camaro rs, I'm looking to do a 350 swap.
Re: Tuning
That is where datalogging by you would help Brian. EFI cars generally do not run rich as they have closed loop feedback from 02 sensor. If the richness comes from pumpshot or WOT that can be addressed by Brian in tune. I suspect he is willing to tweek as needed? The more experienced tuners can generally get it right after say 10 datalogs. As previously stated all this is best done by you hands on.
