Is my ECM dead? Car stopped...no more check engine light
Hey Third-geners....
I was backing out of the driveway in my TBI Suburb...I mean Camaro
and suddenly my truck..err car.....just stopped.
I'm not getting any fuel, when I turn the key to "run" (without starting it) it isn't prssurizing, you don't her the pump kick in.
Also when I turn the key to run (without starting it) the check engine light no longer illuminates...it is just dark...like nobody is home.
Headlights and stuff still work, starter cranks over nice and healthy. I just have no fuel pressure, and the check engine light is gone, it never lights up.
Is my ECM fried?
Thanks for letting a fellow TBI owner in here (even if my "Camaro" can tow 9500 lbs!) The suburabn sites I've found are only interested in newer trucks..they ignore the TBIers...and you guys know all about this stuff!

most likely a wiring problem has cut power to the ecm
-check for bad connections in the usuall areas under the
hood, check ECM fuse,if nothing found there you use a
voltmeter to see if ECM getting voltage.

Thanks 8t-2!
Good idea, before I jump to conclusions I should double check it is getting power. I'll check the fuse easy enough, but what about the computer, I think I can see it behind the glove box, but there is a large wiring harness...do you know which wire is the main power wire?
Thanks again!

8t2, you were right, it was a fuse! (at least for now) I'll see if it keeps blowing...then the investigation will begin into why.
Thanks again for slowing me down before I started diggin' into the computer!
