TBI adapter plate Question
Hey there. When using a 4bbl manifold on a TBI swap into an older vehicle, is there a preferance on which TBI adapter plate to use? I've found aluminum plates from Holley and Tran-Dapt, along with a steel plate from Trans-Dapt. I got a 3/4" X 6.5" X6.5" piece of alum, thought about making my own, can't be that much to it. Thanks, Al

Re: TBI adapter plate Question
if it's a Q-jet manifold, you can get the 454 adapter from a junkyard. it's a pretty cool looking piece, but it'll add about 1 1/2 inches to you intake, maybe 2.

Re: TBI adapter plate Question
I made my own, but I ended up with the throttle body about 1/4" farther forward than stock. I figured this might help a bit more since the blades seem to direct the mixture more towards the rear of the engine. I ended up needing to cut the clamp off the throttle cable under the dash so it would extend far enough for the linkage.
