data logging issues.....

Okay so i have a 93 s10 blazer (tbi) with the 8625 ecm and im using tuner pro. I have the right com port selected right mask. I also tried win aldl with no success (8625 is not listed as one of the supported ecus). And i had my computer engineer brother build me this cable.

if that pic didnt show up here is the link (2nd one)
http://winaldl.joby.se/aldlcable.htm

And here is my aldl plug. i plugged my data into the one with the orange wire going into it and my ground i plugged into the black with a white stripe and didnt use a resistor that comes off of the data.

Finally here is my problem... Im not getting data and the computer doesnt even recognize the cable ( tried it on 2 different laptops) i need help.

Re: data logging issues.....

16168625 is a later P4 series PCM used in TBI trucks. P4 PCM is an advanced version TBI/CFI powertrain control module before GM transitioned to OBD-II in '96. Early C3 ECM interface will not work with PCM. PCM I/O operates at higher speed - 8192 baud vs 160 used in C3. Check Moates website for more information, but IRC 8625 PCM used $E6 mask. Use TunerPro-RT for data stream capture.

Pin M is 8192 is data.

Re: data logging issues.....

actually I believe you need the G1 adaptor, not the G4. To be sure, ask Craig at moates, he is a lot of help. I have an 8625 out of a 93 S10 PU that I am putting into my 87 TBI 4x4 PU, so I have looked at all the things I will be needing. RFMaster is correct, that circuit will not work for your application. If your brother is really handy with building interfaces, there are several available that will work with the 8k baud computers, go look at the "aldl and usb Q's under diy prom forum. there are also designs based on the MAXI232 chipset
