aldl connection probs

hi everyone, been reading here awhile now and learned alot when i started tuning. i have an 85 s10 blazer 3.4L with the tbi setup, 8062 ecm and $4E mask. i use TPrt to tune and i started using WINaldl to datalog. last week i started to use TPrt to datalog, which i think was a mistake, been nothing but problems since. at first it worked but i felt winaldl was a better way to datalog. for some reason now it doesnt connect to winaldl or TP. tried different com ports and messed with the speed settings, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, nothing. even uninstalled TP and that didnt help. i think i need to start from scratch but cant remember how to do it. lost all my setup cd's when i moved(air force), i really need help! thanks in advance!!!

i sure did and its set to the appropriate settings. i didnt mention that i got the blue screen of death right around the time that this crap started happening. did the computer dump something in there to recognize the extreme aldl? it doesnt even read with WINaldl either.

Re: aldl connection probs

ok i think im on to something here. plugged the lappy in today and fired it up, after a couple of minutes winaldl started recieving data. i notice that there was a prom error code set. sometimes it starts and i get data from the aldl and sometimes not. im thinking it might have a problem with the socket booster? i might buy another one and get my 7747 ecm in there and see what that does. still kinda lost and i dont know how to bench test the hardware
