I'm going crazy with a code 42 issueit started out a couple months ago with just a light and no change in runing condition but has gradualy started acting up
it realy does not like to get out in traffic in the over 100 degree heat pings with ac off and overheats then then stalls with ac on ....the car only throws a code 42 but I replaced the esc module and nothing changed
its my 91 caprice wagon and rite before the problem started I did alot of work inclduding
cloyes stadard timing chain and gear set,tbi and injector pod spacers,160dergree thermostat, new water pump rad and hoses, daul electric fan swap, bigger 9c1 y pipe, gutted 2.5" cat, dynomax 2.5" madrel intermediate pipe, flowmaster 40, E3 diamond fire pluggs, accell cap and rotor, oriely oem replacement coil, and a steering colum, ac controll panel and some stereo stuff
this car is driving me crazy thinking of sellling it cheap and taking a loss somone please help

Have you done anything with the ignition? Did you disconnect the EST wire previously?
Sounds like it could be the module starting to go. A new module and coil along with a tuneup could do wonders. The ign. modules are not the most reliable part in teh world, to say the least.

I did have to change my module out twice in 09 but they never failed this bad I have an extra oem module and coil I'm gonna try those and pull a few pluggs to check them out I have read some bad things about the E3 diamond fires but I swear I the made my car run a hundred times better when I installed them
Re: Code 42 stalls with ac on
I swap an O.E. coil back on yesterday and noticed connector for the wires that go to the distributor is broken Im going to replace that little wire harness as well
I put about 15 miles on it last night with the ac on and got no pinging overheating or stalling but it was also only about 80 degrees we still have alot of 100+ degree days left this summer
cant wait untill I do my lt1 swap
