If I let my car sit over night it takes 3-5 times for it to start and run right. It will start, run, idle down and sputter and die. Does it a few times then dies. After this it runs fine. No issues, will start everytime after this till it sits again for a long time such as overnight? It just started yesterday, did it today also. It's werid it only does it after sitting awhile. Any ideas?

Is the fuel pump priming when you turn the key on? Maybe bad fuel pump relay, thus it takes longer to start as it needs to build oil pressure for the oil pressure sending unit to run the fuel pump instead of the relay.

I'll check that, how to I check if it's the relay though? No test? Just swap it? Where are they on these cars?

Re: Werid starting and stalling issue???
Easiest way - crawl under car put ear on gas tank, have someone turn key to ON (not start) and listen - pump will prime for like 2 seconds.

If it's not priming, then check relay - should be driver side firewall between brake booster and fender - a bracket there with several relays on the 'inside' of the bracket - one is fan relay, it will have a large wire that is black with red stripe, other relay is fuel pump. If you fans work, then you can mark the fan relay with a marker (so you know which is which), and swap them, they should be same relay (mine were on my 1990 and my 1992), then do the ear to gas tank test again and see if pump primes - if it does, then you know relay was bad - replace the bad one.

Could also be the relay connector - I had one get fried for some reason one time - dealer has new connectors you can buy, but they aren't cheap and have to be ordered usually. But you can look at the connector for scorch marks and such. If it is the connector and not the relay itself, any relay will work, and you could save some cash by getting a new relay and connector from http://www.wiringproducts.com/conten...ive-relay.html - that page shows a 40amp relay and a connector for it - together about $12 + shipping (1/2 the dealer price of a GM relay connector), and I've bought from them before (same place as the switches you PM'd me about).

It primes. I just drove the car it also starts fine right now though. It's only after it sits for a long time. Maybe it's not priming all the time?
