Re: TBI or TPI?

If its a stock setup, RS 305s of that year were all TBIs. TBI cars have an air cleaner housing that looks just like older cars had. A big round thing on top of the engine. If it was a Z28 it may have a 305 TPI whose air intake system looks more like a big funnel flattened out and wider at the front. Also, if original equipment. Check the vin number. The eighth number from the left is the engine ID letter. If its an E, its TBI. If its an F its TPI

Re: TBI or TPI?

Spacer is a waste of time. Until you have exhaust (ie headers), your wasting time doing anything on the top other than maybe an open element. Do headers first - you need to be able to get any other increases OUT of the engine before you worry about getting any increase In the engine, and the TBI exhaust is very very restrictive.
