Which fuel pump for what I'm doing?

It's a 305 5 speed car, free mods, exhaust.

I want something that will last for a while. The car is road race and autocross set up.

Will eventually get vortec heads. That's about it.

So what brand size will be good for a stockish car that does this type of racing ?

A stockish type pump will be fine.

Yes, but is there a aftermarket one better then the stock one? Or should I just put a stock one in?

Stock ACDelco would be my first choice.

If you plan on upgrading cam and heads sometime, go with the ACDelco TPI fuel pump, so you will not have to drop the tank again.

Are they the same from the 305 tpi to the 350 tpi?
Also it will work fine without the heads and cam for now right?

Tbi pumps i think only run at 15 psi max, tpis are higher, just get a replacement tpi fuel pump and put it in, imo the first thing when moding a tbi should be upgrading the fuel pump so u know ull have enough fuel preassure for mods.

Are you sure a stock regulator will hold the pressure from a tpi pump?

A stock regulator doesn't "hold" pressure, it shunts excess volume back to the tank.

Will probably show a 1-2 psi increase to the injectors.

Best is you get/make an Adjustable FPR, to adapt fuel supply to your modded engines demand.
Of cours tuning is required wenn changing fuel supply, the best for this is http://dynamicefi.com/

Though if cam and/or heads are not upgraded and the current pump is not shot, it is not necessary to change the fuel pump.
The TBI pump works perfect and is wery reliable.

Another way to increase fuel supply, with the stock fuel pump, is to use injectors with higher flow rate like 61, 65, 68, 80, #90 lb/hr, ...
Again tuning will be mandatory.
