Re: cant find nothing that will fit for my TBI

well they dont technically sell one for our cars. a lot of people have been taking the tpi air boxes and using them as an air box for cold air induction do a search on it and you'll see them.

Re: cant find nothing that will fit for my TBI

I doubt the factory camaro TPI air cleaner will anyhow be restricting on a LO3, since the stock TBI aircleaner is not really restricting it.

The 170hp @ 4400 rpm LO3 engine is not exatcly a air hog, though a nice air cleaner could still be nice to have.

The TPI air cleaner can also be modded, somewere in the TPI or fabbrication forum there is a high flow air cleaner lid tread covering it. With a little search you will find it.

Here are some other examples of DIY cai.

TPI airbox will supply more than the L03 could ever pull, unless you go to a big cam and aftermarket heads/induction. The airbox itself isnt a restriction so much as the air filter elements as theyre kinda small. Even K&Ns are a little restrictive on my 350. Ive pulled around 600 CFM of air thru the box and I see around 2 in Hg of vacuum with K&N filter elements. The L03 only probably pulls around 350-400 CFM, so it wont be a restriction.

One word of caution is that TBI does not work well with very cold air. You will get stratified mixtures if you run the TPI airbox in the winter. One option is to simply put an open element on the end of the carb hat so you pull warm air off the radiator.

I noticed that when I ran a 75HP shot of N20 early this fall. Shows up on WB. I think I need to reserve that fun for summer.

Re: cant find nothing that will fit for my TBI

Yeah someone on here put the tpi airbox and then used the stock air cleeaner housing as the filter. Im sure you probably saw it. I think they ran the truck lid so they could get a taller filter. I liked that setup
