LO5 circle track questions

just wondering what heads i should run for my engine, I'm very limited on choices, no high compression, no vortecs , g.m. part#, etc, The engine came from a 1993 roadmaster, the motor is getting a "stock" lift vacuum rule isky cam (2000- 6500 rpm), a set of rhodes lifters, it will have a old (pre egr) 2 barrel cast iron intake (has to be a gm part#), with a holley 4412 500 cfm circle track carb, Will the 193's be alright (i can't port and polish either) or should i get my 882's re-done? I need to pull around 6000-6300 at the end of the straight's, i'm usually around 3000- 3500 coming out of the corner, I would like to use the 193's because of the higher compression ratio, what do you think, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: LO5 circle track questions

I run the 601's on my cars. You can find them on the 80's trucks with 305's pretty easily. They flow great since the motor is kinda choked up in all. Try running a little more overlap in your cam if you can. Are you running a third gen? Dirt or asphalt?I just built one and ran it once. Started 20th and finished 5th. Got a few issues to work out with it though. Plan on running it full time next year. Since I sold my monte. They finally lifted the ban on the third gens in our area so I figured why not.
