bought a 4yr old problem(topic-gas)

Well, I bought a 92 RS with the TBI. This car has 3 more wires that I have to figure out. One of which is a green with white stripe on pass side frame rail near the starter, where does it go? Then off the wire loom the O2 sensor wire comes off of, there is a green one there also with no stripe that is cut. Where does it go?

Other than that I just had a key made for it so I can try and start it. Is there anything I can add to the 3-4yr old gas in the tank to revive it or do I have to drop and flush it out?

Thanks!

Steve

There is a green with white stripe wire that is for the fan switch. You might want to see if anything is connected there, or if the fan switch is even there.

ok, sweet that answers that one. Thanks a ton! It's manually wired so that also explains why its cut.

Now the green one coming out of the O2 sensor wire loom closer to the firewall on the driver's frame rail. It's literally just the purple O2 wire and the green one by themselves. Where does it go? Its just cut outside the loom.

You might at least try and siphon or somehow remove as much gas as possible, add fresh, and perhaps some Sta-bil or other similar gasoline stabilizer or moisture removal additive. Do you have the right vats key, or is that already bypassed?. I think the wire for the temp gauge sender is green, but I'll check for sure tomorrow

Re: bought a 4yr old problem(topic-gas)

I just bought my firebird back from a buddy and they accidently put 2 gallons of water in it.What i did was took the fuel filter off and turned the key over(like your trying to start it) for just like a second or two. Fuel will pour out of the line for about 15-20 seconds.I did this until my half a tank was all the way to empty. I then went and bought 5 gallons of gas. After about a minute of cranking and a lot of smoke out the exhaust it finally fired up and ran like a charm.i did then run that tank all the way down by driving it.I put more gas in it and now it is fine.It is my daily driver 75 miles a day.
