Talking to a 16197427
Hi all, I am converting a carb'd international (345) to EFI. I got a kit on ebay that has been a bit of a struggle. The truck runs, but not well, especially when it is cold. (It'll backfire through the carb and stall until it gets warmed up) Disconnect the timing, she has tons of low-end torque and won't stall. (But then there's no top end)
So I want to connect my computer to the ECU and see what is going on.
I'm running TunerPro RT, with a homemade cable. Attached is the diagram I used, standard cable, no R3, and no R4.
I selected the com port (8) and selected the OD DataStream. I'm guessing that's what it is - BJYU is the cal. (5.7L, Auto)
For the two wires ALDL A and E, since I don't have an ALDL connector, I just connected A to the ECU housing and E to pin F9 or A14. (I'm not sure which one I should use, tried both.)
So then I tried the connect button, but it failed every time. I even reversed A and E.
So any help would be greatly appreciated!
