runs great, but runs rough and dies when i try to restart it when warm
I've got the wildest problem with my car. It will run great on cold start up, and great when it warms up. But if I drive it around town for a couple hours doing errands, Il come home park it, and 30 minutes later go to start it and it dies. I can push the throttle to keep it alive but it will do this for a minute or two. What could be the problem here? Just replaced the distributor, plugs are pretty new, oil done just a couple months ago, fuel pump done the same time as the oil change. Good luck figurin this one out! Thanks in advance for any and all ideas. -matt

Does the fuel pump prime when you try to restart?
Did you replace fuel filter as well?

I haven't paid attention to the priming of the fuel pump but I replaced the filter sock that goes directly on the fuel pump. I'm pretty sure there's another fuel filter somewhere underneath the car right?

Yes, the fuel pump does prime everytime. Still having this problem though and I'm completely lost. I was thinking maybe a vacuum leak but that wouldn't make sense seeing as how it only happens when its already warmed up.
For example:
Last night I drove to my nephews football game, giving it plenty of time to reach 220-230 degrees, perfect operating temperature. After the game I went to start my car and it would start right up, stumble and die. I would press the gas trying to keep it alive but it would hesitate And fight me for about 2 minutes then it runs fine. I don't get it, please help me out.
Thanks, Matt
