ok guys im new to this thread i have a 93 caprice with the 350 tbi. 2 days ago i blew a fuse for my fuel pump which i just replaced yesterday along with the pump strainer and fuel filter. after i replaced the pump it ran alot better as far as throttle responce ect but again the fuse blows again today. after diggin into the car i found i have a short somewhere between the fuse and the rear of the car. i know its not anything to do with the fuel pump itself because for 1 its new and 2 i have unplugged the harness from the pump and im still blowing fuses. so what i need is the wire color diagram for the tbi caprice. im going to run new wires from the front to rear but need to know what color wires do what. im hoping to get some info on here because i tryed on the impala ss forums and that was a joke had idk how many people look at the post but nobody wanted to give me a hand. this is my daily driver and i work ive been workn o the car all day tryn to get it fixed so i dont lose my job for not showing up. so please sombody help me out. thanks in advance.

 

There's wiring diags here: www.austinthirdgen.org - click tech articles on the left, then click 3rd gen wiring diags. BUT - those are for 3rd gen F-body cars - Caprice might be different.

We are all F-body folks here - not sure we'll be of any more help since we don't have wiring diags for Caprices.

 

appreciate the info may be the same ill check further but at least i have somthin to go off of. probly gonna be on here more since u guys have alot more info on tbi stuff than the other site i was on.

 

I wonder if the Caprice is wired similarly to the pickups.

Three-wire connector in the harness near the fuel tank: fuel gauge +, fuel gauge -, fuel pump +.

There is a fourth wire in the fuel tank hanger assembly that is the fuel pump ground. Attaches to the frame of the truck, perhaps it attaches to the frame of the Caprice as well.

The fuel pump power wire is--I think--brown with white tracer.
