Please Help???

I have a 305 tbi trans am I've changed plugs, wires and cap and rotor and ignition coil. i am stalling out randomly with no check engine light. I pulled off the air cleaner and found no fuel being sprayed in the throttle body. Now here is where I am confused, I had an assistant crank over the engine while i pulled off the coil wire on the distributor and held it slightly close to the cap to check for spark in which at this moment the engine fired right up and fuel began to sparay. I'm guessing could this be an ignition module.

Re: Please Help???

My '88 work truck did the same thing for awhile.

Replaced the distributor mainshaft. I guess the magnets crack and/or get weak, and then there's poor signal especially at idle.

Wouldn't hurt to verify that the pickup coil is still good. I would not expect this to be the ignition module; possible but not likely.

Re: Please Help???

I think the ignition module is the #1 suspect.

Re: Please Help???

Test voltage to the Fuel pump relay. My car won't run somtimes and I have to "hotwire" the relay.
