Painless harness missing the IAT plug?
I'm acquiring parts to swap from carb to TBI, and I just bought a Painless 60101 harness, but found it doesn't include the IAT. Didn't the TBI versions of our cars come with IATs?
Rbob, If you're listening if upgrade to EBL like I'm planning, what do recommend to do? Is the IAT worth adding to my harness?

Re: Painless harness missing the IAT plug?
Painless harness is geared toward 7747 ECM, but Camaro 8746 ECM is nearly identical and has provision for IAT. IAT helps with AE tuning especially in non heated intakes. In stock configuration GM used IAT for better emission compliance in cars. Trucks, for the most part were subject to lower emission compliance vs. cars.
I run IAT and it helps to keep AE in check over temperature extremes. In EBL you can disable IAT. Otherwise, to add IAT to your harness you'll need to run additional signal wire to ECM C12 (tan wire) and tap into sensor ground wire (D2, black). Get service pigtail to match your IAT sensor of choice - there are couple different form factors available, but they have nearly identical R vs. temp curves (for example Delphi 25036751).

Re: Painless harness missing the IAT plug?
Good info thanks RFMaster! I bought a used Holley Projection unit that includes the IAT, but was surprised to see that the harness didn't include the pigtail, despite being advertised with it on their webpage. I'll see if I can get one out of painless if not, I'll pilfer the wiring from auto trans hookups.
