350 tbi mod questions
ok so im kinda new to this so bare ith me. i have a 92 formula with a 305 tbi(L03) with 196k miles and ive decided to replace it this summer with a 350 tbi(L05) from a k1500. The questions i have are as to what mods to add before i drop the 350 in. plans include an LT1 cam and flattop pistons. what type of heads should i choose and what size intake. im aware that ill need 350 injectors knock sensor ecm etc. and what kind of improvements can i expect from these mods?

Re: 350 tbi mod questions
L05 heads are horrible... just awful pieces of junk... that being said a buddy of mine did the same swap with his 91 rs, I don't have anytimes or anything but it was definitely much much more fun to drive! And with an lt1 cam it wouldn't be quite so squirrely when you gas it

I'm going to transfer you to the TBI forum, because they are better equipped to address your questions.
(FWIW, IMHO the truck heads and LT1 cam, with valve spring upgrade, would make a nice driver.)

Re: 350 tbi mod questions
Honestly a set of cleaned up vortecs or a cheap set of ZZ4's off ebay would do just fine. I would step it up in the cam department too. LT1 is too small, lol.
With a set of mildly worked over ZZ4 clone (heads/cam/Performer RPM intake) with 3.42 gears and a good 2600-3200 stall he'd be in the mid 13's easily on a halfa$$ tune and a full weighted car. Hell I'm in that territory with my 305 with basically the same mods, so his could be a touch quicker.

I passed on the zz4 heads awhile back. wish I wouldnt have. I ended up with edelbrock perfomer's on the car now. I need more fuel now though. and a real good tune.
