65LB injectors and Nitrous
Any benefits with using 65lbs of injectors since ill be running nitrous?
Ive got a good pump and will be using EBL to tune the .bin ill be using for tge spray. also a VAFPR
But was wondering if i tune it right could i benefit from using the 65lbs injectors? will have to tune it right so that the engine doesnt run too rich during normal driving conditions on the "daily" use .bin

I know they have that formula for injector duty cycle. Either way a bigger injector you can lower your pressure or raise pressure with a smaller injector. that is the dilemna I am having now also. I think someone here will give you a good answer haha.

thanks for the reply undercover.
I was thinking that maybe the 65lbs would be a good option. Lower the duty cycle for the daily use tune and take advantage of the bigger injector when on the nitrous so I have enough fuel. Rather run a little rich then too lean on the spray.
Anyone else have any input or are the 55lbs substantial

Re: 65LB injectors and Nitrous
The question is not the injectors but is the fuel pump adequate. You need to fuel the injectors to 85% DC minimum as well as provide the needed fuel through the N20 jet. That should give you a safe A/F of 11.0-11.5 at WOT. you need a WB as well as a plug check program.
EBL only controls the mechanical "on" event as well as timing control and RPM control.
Odds are you need a larger pump. Delco TPI is a good choice.
I have all the above and ran very rich last season on recommended jetting.

Thanks for the reply
I already have the tpi pump. Wasn't sure if the 55lb injectors would be ok or not. If with the correct jetting and the tpi pump ill have enough fuel ill leave it as is
Oh and ive got the wideband figured out, picking up Rbobs wideband set up. Not my first time around the block, just my first time doing it to a v8/TBI

Re: 65LB injectors and Nitrous
You mentioned running a VRFPR. To set it up properly need to run at least 18 psi with the vacuum line off. This is so that high vacuum doesn't pull the fuel pressure down to nothing.
If the engine is basically stock and are using a wet N2O system, may be better off with the 55 #/hr injectors. They will flow about 65 #/hr at 18 psi.
Get a decent estimate of the engines HP and play with the EBL Utility. Punch in the various fuel pressures and injectors flow rates and see what kind of HP can be supported.
Obviously the HP will be w/o the N2O, as that system supplies it's own fuel.
RBob.

Yeah I think your right rbob. Ill play with ebl an stick with the 55lb for now.
Also think I want to run a stand alone fuel source.for the nitrous system. 100+ octane. Advice?

Re: 65LB injectors and Nitrous
Not sure if my NOS shows how many pounds of fuel for specific jet. It just shows HP which has a relationship to lbs of fuel.
My calculator states 23 lbs FP and 80 lbs injectors at 350CID will flow 100 lbs per hour and supports 377 HP. So if my motor is at 300HP(85%DC) and my N20 jetting is 75 HP I have a small window of 2 HP.
TPI Pump. I believe I can go higher on FP with my VAFPR(1.7msec@idle) to add a cushion.

thanks for the replies.
Rbob- Yes i know, im thinking since i wont be on the spray often it wouldnt be a bad idea. the SAFE stand alone kit seems pretty decent, 1 gal tank with installed fuel pump. runs about $400. mounts to most battery trays. Think it would be a good option though due to being able to run on nitrous with a higher octane of fuel and only have to run premium in my normal tank. Thoughts?
Ronny- thanks i wasnt sure how NOS rated the jets. Ill have to look into it for my specific application. plan to keep this 88 firebird TBI no matter what so whether this stays on a 305 or 350 or 383 think this NOS TBI kit with plate will be more than enough
