help setting up the ebl

hi guys, i've finally started fooling around with my ebl & tuner pro that i got over memorial day weekend and im having trouble getting stuff set up. i read the tutorial on dynamic efi and i went to the second turorial that is a more step by step procedure for setting up your bin to start tuning and I can't import the baseline bin file (off the ebl software) into my calibration editor. im on this step right here, as per the dynamic efi tutorial:

"To start out look through the EBL_F_BINs.txt file (on the CD which should be copied to your PC/laptop). This lists the current calibrations for the EBL Flash. Select one that closely matches your engine and transmission combination. Read the BIN into your calibration editor and immediately save it with a different filename. This will be your starter BIN (also known as a 'calibration').

i've found the file i need, but i can't open it and save through tuner pro so I can move on. your help would be appreciated. thanks!

Re: help setting up the ebl

In Tuner Pro (TP) use the File menu to open a BIN (ALT-F, O). You will need to navigate to the folder with the EBL calibrations. Default install is at:

C:\Program Files\Dynamic EFI\EBL Flash\BINs

Be sure to read in the correct XDF file. It is located (default) at:

C:\Program Files\Dynamic EFI\EBL Flash

ALT-X, S

Re: help setting up the ebl

OK, thanks Rbob. I did as you instructed and I'm getting what I got before. The blue bar at the top of the page has the file name, but I can't open the bin to move torwards tuning.

-I fooled around some more and was able to open up a xdf. My blue task bar at the very top of my page reads "EBL_F2016.BIN (Which is the baseline I need) and after that it reads XDF FILE - EBL-V31.XDF. I'm finally able to use the parameter tree to open up all the different bins and make changes, but I don't know if this is the appropriate baseline as it reads V31 at the end of it.

Re: help setting up the ebl

You have it. The '_V31' portion of the XDF filename is the version. Which will increment as features are added to the ECM firmware.
