A few questions about my TBI

When I bought my 1989 305 TBI Camaro before I changed the motor I noticed some hoses were not connected to anything. Where do these hoses go? And the rpm gauge is always spiked. How do I fix this issue? And these wires behind the a/c compressor?.. Can they just be like that?

Keep them in case you upgrade to EBL flash one day, can then use them to controol fan and maybe other things too, without having to pull cables trough the firewall.
The roadmaster air cleaner in post #2 looks cool there.

Thanks. I thought that those wires might screw with the computer or something. Yea that air cleaner I got off of a 93 caprice sitting in the junk yard... cleaned it, threw a little trim black on it and was surprised to have enough clearance for the hood. Even the original sensors and hose fit perfectly, except the hose that goes from the throttle body to the original air cleaner.

One thing that just caught my eye is the thermac door of the aircleaner looks like it is closed, it should be open. It should only close wile the engine is running and is coold, as it warms up the thermac opens again.

I'll check that out. In this picture I had the car off. Ill see what happens when I turn it on. Good eye. Thanks. I would have never thought of checking that while the car was on.

Re: A few questions about my TBI
I got a chance to check that. it does open up when the car heats up. Noticed something that alarmed me though. Today i put insurance on the car and drove it to the nearest car wash, then got on the highway and once i started to hit 45 mph the car started to resist, kind of like it didn't have the strength to go over that mph. What could this be? Timing? I felt this kick back at the pedal... only once i hit 45.
