i have the holley pro jection 2d setup and i was wondering how a carb intake would perform with the adapter plate? how would it be compared to the actual pro jection intake?

my setup is a 305 with ported 187 swirl heads and an LT1 cam and headers, 3.73 gears 700rs tranny

it doesnt matter what carb intake, suggest one if you would like

 

Any modern Carb (non-air gap) intake will work fine with TBI (and adapter plate). I have tried a few - from a bone stock OE Q-jet cast iron, Edlebrock 2101 and several other dual plane intakes. In the end it is a matter of preference as any number of intakes will work nicely with a ported set of 187. If I may ask what kind of porting did you do to your heads??? Did you U-shaped intake ramp to improve flow? I have a set of 193 that I may port for my next engine build.

i havent done any porting yet, they are off the car now and thats all there is to do, i just said i ported them cause im planning on doing it tomorrow, but i was gonna look up on porting them, what kind of advice do you have for somone thats never ported heads before?
