suggestions on fpr
hey guys im thinkin about putting a aftermarket fuel pressure regulator on my car but i have a few questions. First whats some good regulators yall run? what max psi do they go up to? (i dont think i would need one that goes over 20 or so) i actually dont even know what the stock fuel pump puts out. Also after putting on an aftermarket one is there a way to bypass the one built into the tbi? if they make an electric one thatd be awesome as i was thinking itd be cool to be able to adjust the pressure while driving so i could keep decent mileage when needed and turn it up a lil if im feelin kinda squirrely

Re: suggestions on fpr
you have to block off the fuel pressure regulator on the stock throttle body, they sell a kit for this. a stock tbi system is designed to run between 9-13 psi. if your relatively stock or have a couple of the basic mods a bump up to 14.5-15 helps develop more power. You can either run an external one and bypass your stock one, or you can modify your stock one to be adjustable (check the ultimate tbi mods) or you can install an aftermarket one, like jegs, cfm tech, dctrumpet on ebay offer these

well i did some googlein and found that the aeromotive 13301 ($127.99) is a good suggesion, i also found on jegs they carry a jet fpr ($74.99) that just replaces the stock one on the tbi. i also read that a stock 5.0 usually likes about 13psi stock and a slightly modded one likes about 14-14.5psi. Im runnin headers, open air intake, no a/c or smog pump, so i figure 14 psi would be a good place to start. The only thing about the jet fpr is it being a direct replacement it doesnt have any fittings for a gauge though i already have one on my inlet line.
