motor swap questions
yes i read the 305 to 350 swap. but it dosent say anything for a carbed swap, and thats what im doing. i've done research on it but i still have a few questions
1. i think i seen a post on here about needing to do something to the trans to let it shift after u swap to the carbed 350, am i correct?
2. what parts of the wiring harness can i take out of the equation?
3. would it be easyer to take the trans that is currently with the 350 and just use that instead off my 700r4? im not even sure it the yokes are the same for the drive shaft. i guess i could just take the shaft and swap the yokes if needed.
im getting this motor for a good price, only 300$ its coming from a junk yard and is still in the car and it looks like a fresh motor, very clean, gaskets look new, but it dosent have a carb right now, really want to hear it run before buying it but if i dont im taking the trans and headers without any further charge.

Re: motor swap questions
i wouldnt change the transmision to the th350 you'll lose overdrive then.
basically you eliminate all the sensors, install an HEI non computer controlled distributor, wire that up accordingly. you can regulate the stock fuel pump down with a regulator and run a carb of your choice. as far as the transmission you'd have to re wire the lockup for the transmission. thier should be a thread on this somewhere. Maybe in the carb section or in the transmission section.

Re: motor swap questions
i havent decided on if i want to just leave the fuel pump in and use a regulator or just take it out and put an inline filter in the motor bay. ive got an access panel in the trunk so it wouldnt be to hard either way. ya i do want to keep my over drive, i do drive out of state alot, but i can always sell the trans and get some of my money back out of it.
