Im looking at a 91 rs and the guy said it has a 350 tbi engine from a truck in it. i was just wondering about some specs on this type of engine in a 3rd gen. what would the aproxamate gas milage and hp/torque be. also is it a reliable engine, is this something that people often put in rs's because there stock engine isn't the best i know that.

look above your post in the stickies. that will give you a lot of info on this and what should have been done. truck will most likely be the l05 engine.

 

L05 I think had around 210 HP stock if I am not mistaken. Up until the middle of last year. I was getting 23 MPG wit 350 tbi w/some performance mods a 700r4 with 3.42 gears.

 

Mines not an l05 like yours more than likely is, but its an 87 tpi 350 that was installed with the tbi that I had to change some parts on. Swapped injectors, iac, and tps. Runs fine, idles just a bit rougher than stock because I'm running the stock chip, but I was getting about 26-27 MPG on the highway. not sure about the HP numbers. I'd guess between 200 and 210 at the crank though.
