TBI swap car IAC issue
TBI swap car IAC issue
So I was one of the guys who put a TBI setup on my 84 Vette, Anyhow the car runs alright for what it is but I have had this annoying problem i can't figure out.
The IAC resets nearly everytime the car gets restarted, Cold starts or hot restarts and it doesn't fix its self untill I drive the car enough for it to relearn.. 50+mph for a few mins.
So if i get some gas and start her back up, its idling around 1000rpms and doesnt go away untill i can get back on a open road, hurting my gas milage and is just annoying.
Stock crossfire wiring, 92 TBI.. Any suggestions? Is my ECU losing power and resetting the tune? Car leans out after long periods of driving as well, sometimes enough to cause backfiring.

Re: TBI swap car IAC issue
Should post a little bit more detail - ECM service number, Mask ID.
Early crossfire ECM (with edge connector) are temperamental - swap to a later 8746 3rd gen ECM (or 7747 truck ECM if you do not have IAT). Frequent IAC resets IRC were implemented to fix dual IAC balance issues, but I am not sure. Someone who knows CFI ECM code should chime in.
