ECU Swap question

I have a 84 Corvette with a TBI swap thats still on the CFI ECU and harness, I found someone with a 91 firebird 305 TBI/Auto trans combo for a good price.

My vette has the 4+3 transmission and my question is will it work by leaving the auto transmission connectors off?

I know i'll need a 350 chip but other then that I think it should be plug and play, right?

Thanks

Re: ECU Swap question

not quite plug and play as the the original ECM and the
'91 ecm have different plug styles-you could splice in
the later plugs or build an adaptor using later ecm plug,
some double sided PC board,a dremel tool, and soldering
iron;cut two pieces of correct size of PC board, then use
the dremel to groove and notch to resemble plug area of
original ECM circuit boards, then solder correct wires of
replacement ECM to correct traces of PCboard adaptor
plugs-might have to "repurpose"a few unused wires to
accomodate sensors, etc.used with the later ECM-i used
this method to run a '7747 on my crossfire for a bit.
I think using an ECM originally off an automatic car in
a manual tranny car will work, but i don't know much
about a 4+3 and have never run stick app off of auto
ECM before,so someone who has done it will have
better answer for that question.
