90 RS TBI No run
90 RS TBI No run
Hello all. I found this site while surfing the web for a resolution to an issue I have with this 90 RS I just bought.
It's a 305/automatic car. The car cranks over fine but doesnt fire. When I spray some starting fluid into the TB it fires and runs briefly. I cracked the fuel supply line open, turned the key on and fuel come out.
I checked for power current at the injectors and its there.
So obviously the injectors arent injecting any fuel into the engine.
History on the car. The guy I bought it from said it ran fine. He had it stored at his barn. Every time he went to move it, it started up fine. He said that the last time he started it was about a year.
Im new to this "newer stuff", computerized cars. I have a 2nd gen camaro (hense the user name.)
Any assistance on this is greatly appreciated.
Nice sight by the way.
Thanks!

Re: 90 RS TBI No run
sounds like it could be one of a couple different things
control module is where i would look first . when it goes out the injecters don't get a signal to spray . easy fix an cheap to

Re: 90 RS TBI No run
Went out and braved the cold and snow today and tinkered on this thing. It appearantly has a fuel pump that doesnt work. I cracked the supply line to the TB, cranked the start and the line shot no fuel. I can hear it humming away in the tank? weird.
What all works on the fuel side of these Camaros? Could it be something else besides the fuel pump?
Looking under this thing, dropping the tank out to do a fuel pump looks to be a huge PITA. The exhaust is all welded in underneith it and working around the rear end, etc...
IF I have to do a pump in it I'm thinking of carving into the floor, make an "access door" (unless there is one there already, I havnt looked.) If I have to change the fuel pump, dropping the tank looks to be more work than I really want to get into right now.
