IAC raising idle/neutral rpms

Recently my car has been acting up by constantly raising the rpms to about 2500 every time I push in the clutch. And sometimes its like the throttle was stuck and my car would drive itself when I didnt have my foot on the pedal. I cleaned the TB, replaced the IAC, and made sure the throttle cable was not sticking. I'm not sure why the IAC is being told to bring up the rpms but it was so annoying I just unplugged it and dont use it at all. I'm not throwing any codes either. Does anyone know what might cause this?

Thanks
Matt

Re: IAC raising idle/neutral rpms

check for vacuum leaks especially the tbi base gasket. have you checked the throttle body for wear in the throttle shaft it may be causing the plates to bind.

Re: IAC raising idle/neutral rpms

I finally got time to change the base gasket (actually 2 of them the PO installed a spacer with a flow passage in it) and I think it fixed my problem. It does not drive itself in gear anymore. It does still raise the rpms when I push the clutch but not as high and doesn't come down to idle as fast as when I unplugged the IAC. Is this normal behavior?
