Advice on porting LO3 intake
I want to know if its worth porting the stock lo3 intake manifold?
and if its actually going to gain any hp or torque?
Thanks in advance.

Are you talking from experience?
Or is it just your guess because its an lo3 intake? lol
Just want a little more gain with the full exhaust and headers.

Would have to see it up close to see if you can even get to all the passages. Unless you can its not worth it. Is it all stock even warranting it?

Re: Advice on porting LO3 intake
dont want Smog shops making it a big deal because its missing EGR.
If you get one bring it over if it looks viable..
Re: Advice on porting LO3 intake
You can barely pass smog test, and you're attention is focused on modifying the engine MORE?
It might be better to figure out why the engine is emitting excess pollution, and repair that, first.

@cuisinartvette Yeah Ill see if i decide to get it. Most likely i will.
My smog guy said that my car is running clean but with this new star testing stuff they are making it harder to meet requirements because they want all old cars out of the streets already. He told me to just replace my old cat with a new one and that I should be good as long as my car is running good.

Re: Advice on porting LO3 intake
I'm actually porting one right now just for the hell of it. There is a TON of material that can be taken out of this manifold. I'm porting this one to a 1205 gasket with more than enough meat for safety. The throttle bores can be opened up easily to about 51-52mm safely. I'll post pics of it tomorrow. Truthfully in my opinion it's not worth upgrading to the 3704 intake unless you port the hell out of it. I know from experiance as I used to own one that it can be safely bored out to 50mm.

Oh sweet let me know how that goes.
I might go with the performer intake and buy an adapter plate with it. I saw that they make one that takes EGR.

Re: Advice on porting LO3 intake
The stock intake manifold on top of the LO3, is far from being a restriction.
I would immagine that if ported, it could work wery well on a 300-340 fwhp engine.
